Meet The Rockettes!

We've seen the Rockettes three times now.....and every time is better than the last!  We usually go up to NYC on a bus trip every few years at Christmas to catch the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show.  It's definitely the highlight of our holiday season!

I have one small problem with the Radio City Christmas Show.....and it has to do with all the new technology and 3D video they are implementing.  It drives me CRAZY!!!  I'm not paying big bucks and travelling to NYC to watch a 3D movie or Santa Claus video clips!  I don't mind a few clips here and there....but the last show we saw was way overdone with the technology and video stuff.  I want to see real performers, spectacular props, and hear some holiday tunes!  And, of course, see the kickin' Rockettes!

This is what I want to pay to see!

The Missing Bridge!

We've seen the London Tower Bridge.

We've seen the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

We've seen the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy.

But, try as we might, we couldn't find the Brooklyn Bridge!  I studied the map.  We took the subway down to the Financial District.  We walked....and walked.....and walked.   Finally, it was there!

The Piano Woman!

On one of our trips to NY, Jenesa and I stopped by FAO Schwartz to check out the oldest toy store in the United States.  We were even greeted at the door by a toy soldier!  The company is known for its unique, high-end toys, life-sized stuffed animals, dolls, games and more.  I gotta admit....I never had toys like these!

We wondered through the store until we found this giant-sized floor piano featured in the movie Big starring Tom Hanks.  What a classic!  Jenesa stumbled through chopstix, but you can check out the real pro in the video below.

The Naked Cowboy

Who doesn't like a good old naked cowboy roaming the city streets?

9/11 Memorial

On our way down to the financial district, we wanted to stop and see the 9/11 memorial site.  This national memorial was a tribute to the 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, Shanksville, Pa, and the Pentagon.

The Memorial's twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest man-made waterfalls in North America.  The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood.  The names of every person who died are inscribed into the bronze panels that surround each pool.

I was a little hesitant to take pictures and/or video any part of this "grave yard" memorial.  It was just such an unbelievable site in the middle of all the city skyscrapers.  Almost hard to fathom all the chaos that took place here over 10 years ago.

The Freedom Tower is currently being built to pay homage to the Twin Towers.

Running With The Bulls...

Made a quick stop on Wall Street to see my favorite bull!  Life is good (and my stocks are too!) when the bulls appear!  We spent a lot of our afternoon down around the financial district.  Took us a little while to find this guy....and I was a little disappointed when we did!  I wanted to hop on his back for my photo-op, but the bull was housed in a gated area away from tourists.  That's total bull$%@#!
